Jewelry Care & Cleaning Tips

Each piece of Trail Folk is completely handmade by me.

While these pieces are meant to last your lifetime, below are a handful of suggestions to follow to help prolong their life:

  • Do not wear jewelry pieces while showering, swimming, or exercising, and if possible try to remove rings (with stones) BEFORE washing hands and/or putting on lotion.

  • When not wearing your pieces, it is best to store them flat or hanging.

  • Avoid exposing your gemstone pieces to any harsh chemicals (such as household cleaners or perfumes) as these can damage the stones over time.

  • Brooches are meant to be worn with light - medium thick clothing items. Please note that magnetic backs are very strong, but will not hold on leather, thick jackets, etc.

Cleaning Tips

  • Use a soft cloth to polish your jewelry. Avoid using abrasive materials that can scratch the surface. Please note that a free sample cleaning cloth is included with every order!

  • Tarnish on silver and copper is normal! Your polishing cloth can help rid of some of this if you prefer, but the best way to ease tarnishing is simply to wear your piece(s) more often!

  • Bandanas: wash in cold water and hang or line dry preferred. Due to the linen/cotton blend, they may need an iron every so often!

Please also note: Each piece is truly unique and no two will ever be the same. You may notice natural imperfections but these in no way affects the quality any piece. Should you have questions about your piece(s), please reach out via the contact me page.

By following these guidelines, you can enjoy your Trail Folk jewelry for years to come. Remember that proper care & storage is the key to preserving their natural beauty and ensuring that they remain in your collection for years to come!
